                   The Trainer-Scene Report , Issue #2                       

                                                                      
         - Issue #1 was a big success so here is the second issue.    
           from now on we will continue as a monthly magazine.        
                                                                      
         - We changed the point system, so coders of savegame editors 
           also get some credit for their work. We also made changes  
           in the bonus points. Look in the dictionary when a coder   
           gets a special bonus etc...

		      The Dictionary and Point-System.			      

         This is the most important part of the TRAINER-SCENE-REPORT. 
         To get a proper/fair point Sytem we devided the trainers in  
         3 groups and they all can get bonus points which depends on  
         the quality of the trainer.				       
       							       
         1:  The hardcheats replace some data in the executable file. 
             Normally these kind of trainers are made by coders who   
             just dont know anything about TSR-coding. 	       
       							       
         2:  SaveGame Cheats. These cheats replace the trainer-data   
             inside the saved game. When The SaveGame Editor is runned
             it will replace the data in the savegame and then you    
             become more powerfull. But if you want to cheat again    
             you must restart the editor.			       
       							       
         3:  The normal trainers are based on TSR-Coding (terminate   
             a program and leave the trainer in memory. There are     
             many types of trainers who are based on this principle.  
             Some of them add some special options like online-menu`s 
             etc...We will discuss these options l8er on...	       
       							       
         The Special Options:					       
       							       
           Interactive or NONE-Interactive.			       
       							       
           Interactive means that the user can decide for himself     
           WHAT options he wants to train. If a game has 10 options   
           and the trainer enables the user to select between these   
           options then the trainer is INTERACTIVE. If the trainer    
           is static, so that the trainer trains all of some options  
           without enabling the user to change this, then the trainer 
           is just a lame None-Interactive trainer.		       
       							       
         Loader.                                                      
       							       
           A loader starts up the game from within the trainer. This  
           is a nice way to make trainers, because these trainers     
           wont screw up your memory/System!                          
           Some coders make the loader looks like a little demo/intro 
       							       
         INGAME-Keys.						       
       							       
           The best trainers around are the onces with INGAME-options.
           If you want to add something to a game-option, like lives  
           you just press a key and you got another life. This methode
           is based on hooking the trainer to the keyboard. These     
           trainers are always interactive so making a trainer with   
           ingame-keys give you lots of points ;)		       
       							       
         ONLINE-MENU						       
       							       
           WHen you have 12 ingame keys it gets confused. So a new    
           methode was created called ONLINE-MENU. When pressing a    
           key a special menu pops up in which the user can decide    
           what to train. Adding an online-menu gives the trainer     
           makers maxium points.

                         The Trainer Reviews.                                


COOL SPOT       :  7 trainers for 1 game thats not very cool...Probably a
                   good game, why else is EVERY group making a trainer for
                   it ? Especially when most trainers have not more then
                   3 or 4 options! Only Razor didnt release a trainer for
                   this game. IF you look at the options you can clearly
                   see that the little groups (Extinct, AFL and INFINITY)
                   cant pass the +3 options so again its a battle between
                   the bigger groups. Both TRSI and NEXUS won over this
                   game, both with 8 options. PTG and LEGEND came close,
                   but not close enough.

HEXX            :  The 'BIG' groups didnt bother to train this game, so
                   the little groups can score some point on this one.
                   Its clearly that Phoenix won with at least 10 miles
                   between them and AFL & OLR...

HOCUS POCUS     :  Very Strange...We only found 2 trainers for this game
                   The game has about 15 trainable items and what do we
                   get? Right...2 [+01] trainers...1 from Paradox and
                   1 from Legend...The worst part is that they both get
                   a bonus for "most" options :(

MYSTIC TOWERS   :  7 trainers for the same game...So lets see what this battle
                   brought to us...We dont mention the +1 trainers because
                   there were at least 20 trainable options. CPM released
                   2 saved-game editors for this game...first a lame +1
                   editor and l8er they decided to release a +11 version,
                   none of them won anything...So once again it was up to
                   the bigger groups...By some communication-problems
                   between Widget & !TWIN, TRSi released 2 trainers for it,
                   with !TWIN being the one with the most options. L8er
                   Shadow master also released a +21 trainer...It was just
                   a saved-game editor but still both he and TWIN! had the most
                   items trained.

EPIC PINBALL 3  :  Training PINBALL-Games is very difficult, well...it aint
                   difficult, but in most pinball-games each table uses
                   his own exe-file, with other words : Has its own keyboard
                   handler...so many trainer-makers have to adjust their
                   normal trainer-engine, thats the main reason that the
                   "bigger" trainer-makers wont train pinballs, because they
                   are known as being lazy ;)
                   In this game it was up yo fletch, jecksom and code breaker
                   , none of them know how to count items...they think that
                   4 TILT-options are +4, but it still is 1 item, so a better
                   way to name it is " 4 times +1 "...anyway...Code breaker
                   has more options so he gets the bonus...
                   On the day of this trainer-report-release we got another
                   trainer for this game, done by DR.DETERGENT, he didnt have
                   as much options as the others...but its nice to see that 1
                   of the best trainer-coders is back!

ARYA VAIV       :  Nice shoot `em up game...perfect for training...Wdiget
                   was the only one who trained ALL items...with Mod as
                   a good second...No words about Art Deco with his +1
                   trainer where 5 were possible...

THEME PARK      :  Only PNX and ERIS bothered to train this game, both with
                   a saved-game editor, and it seems that PNX won again. That
                   makes PNX the best saved-game trainers around ;) Too bad
                   dont code REAl trainers ;)

ZOOL 2          :  ACE/MAD claimed to have released a +13 trainer, but most
                   of the trained options were dupes, so only 6 options left.
                   Widget Released 11 options so he gets the bonus. 4 days
                   l8er DOD released a trainer with just 4 options...thats
                   cewl isnt it ;)

ALIEN LEGACY    :  Lets call it the battle of the saved-game editors...
                   Glory...yeps..the group that stole Future Crews Starport-
                   intro...Has only 5 options, and Phoenix crushes them with
                   there 20 options-version...Once more Shadow master earns
                   bonusses wth saved-game editors...still because the
                   REAL trainers-makers were to lazy ....Well...It was
                   hot...so probably they preferred to lay on the beach...

SOCCER KID      :  SOUNDWAVE & MOD both made a +4 trainer and both trainers
                   were interactive with ingame keys, so they both win...
                   CPM managed to release a +3 TSR-trainer 3 days after the
                   other groups released their trainers.

SILVERBALL 2    :  A game that looks just like EPIC PINBALL ;) They could call
                   it epic pinball 4 or 5, cauze i didnt find any different
                   things (except for the tables).
                   Anyway...2 trainers for it..1 is a +1 hardcheat (yukkie-yuk)
                   and the other is a +2*6 option trainer done CyberForce.

Last Action Hero:  Lovely Game everyone wanted to train ;) All 3 trainers
                   came out 1 day after the release itselfs. TRSi won not
                   only on the release but also on the trainer...And that
                   means that legend lost another battle after they got
                   spanked by TRSi 1 day before ;) But i must say that all
                   3 trainers were cewl...Legends part was trained by
                   Wolverine and has a nice interface in the trainer,
                   too bad it hasnt a loader or any ingame keys. That could
                   improve his engine a LOT! ..The other trainer was done
                   by MOD/PARADOX. It seems that MOD is getting more active
                   every day. He almost won the Option-bonus, if it wasnt
                   for widget..he got 1 more option than MOD. But BOth TRSi
                   and PARADOX have ingame-keys and are interactive, so thats
                   cewl. BUT! I dont know why MOD' trainers are only PARTIAL
                   ingame...some options are just STATIC and others have
                   an ingame-key...It would look much more professional if
                   ALL options have an ingame-key (just a little hint ;)
                   Anyway....A good job by TRSI, PARADOX and LEGEND...all
                   3 were good trainers...

-DISQUALIFIED-  :  - Grandest Fleet Trainer by glory...Because the trainer
                     was made 1000000 weeks afters the game was released.
                   - Same story for Smashing pumpkins by glory.
                   - And the same for Pacific Strike by The Trader.

-Other Winners- :  The following trainers win because they had no competition
                   from other trainers.
                   - GOONIE with a +10 for pizza connection.
                   - TWIN with his +16 theatre of death trainer.
                   - Widget with a +7-trainer for SINK OR SWIM *US*
                   - DR.Detergent for Super Dune 2
                   - Soundwave for FORMULA 1 *final* [+01]
                   - Goonie for CATH `em [+06]
                   - Soundwave for TUBES! [+04]
